"I saw this production twice. It is only with exceptionally good productions that one leaves the theatre the second time feeling more inspired than one did the first time!
Don't miss it"
British Theatre Guide
"The production swirls by in a whirl of vividly coloured costumes and disciplined traditional dance and movement. The fight scened be come skillful martial dances; the ball is a perfectly accomplished, giddying ritual" Financial Times
This highly stylised Romeo and Juliet paints the star struck lovers' story with striking images, glorious martial art sequences, live music and impressive dance, ritual and gesture. Korean in both temperament and setting, Oh Tae-Suk's enthralling interpretation, freely adapted from Shakespeare's most famous play, is a production of arresting beauty. The performers' physical vocabulary, heightened emotional state and comic timing create a sensual fusion that lacks nothing from the absence of the bard's language. You may never think about Shakespeare in the same way once you see what this company can do with it..
